Replacement Cost on Contents
Identify Fraud Protection Services with Resolution Service-- $15,000 coverage for, among other things, lost income, and attorney fees to remove criminal or civil judgments due to identity fraud. The Identity Theft Service helps “prevent '' ID theft in the event of a lost or stolen wallet. We also offer one- on- one victim assistance to help restore good credit.
Refrigerated Property-- $1,000 of coverage subject to a $100 deductible
Personal Injury Liability-- Coverage for false arrest, wrongful eviction, slander, libel, right of privacy, etc.
Water Back- Up-- $1,000 of coverage subject to the policy deductible
Lock and Garage Door Transmitter Coverage—Pays to replace locks or garage door transmitters when your keys or transmitter is lost or stolen. $500 limit with no deductible
Another important endorsement:
Pet Insurance—Provides medical coverage for accidental injury or illness of a cat or dog. $100 deductible with a 10% co- insurance payment per illness or injury. We can ensure cats and dogs are 6 weeks of age and older, although the maximum age at which your pet can be added is 8 years old for dogs and 10 for cats.

- The Structure of Your Home (Coverage A) – This part of your policy pays to repair or rebuild your home if it is damaged or destroyed by fire, tornado, hail, lightning, or other disaster listed in your policy. It will not pay for damage caused by a flood, earthquake (unless endorsement is purchased), or routine wear and tear. When purchasing coverage for the structure of your home, it is important to buy enough to rebuild your home.
- Other Structures (Coverage B)—Most standard policies also cover structures that are detached from your home such as a garage, tool shed, or gazebo. Generally, these structures are covered for about 10% of Coverage A limit. If you need more coverage, talk to your Pekin Insurance agent about purchasing more insurance.
- Personal belongings (Coverage C)—Your furniture, clothes, sports equipment, and other personal items are covered if they are stolen or destroyed by fire, tornado, or other insured disaster at 50% of the Coverage A limit. We strongly encourage you to conduct a home inventory to determine the amount of coverage needed. This part of your policy includes off- premises coverage. This means, under most circumstances, your belongings are covered anywhere in the world.
- Additional Living Expense (Coverage D)—This pays the additional costs of living away from home if you can’t live there due to damage from a fire, storm, or other insured disaster up to about 30% of the Coverage A limit. It covers hotel bills, restaurant meals, and other living expenses incurred while your home is being rebuilt. Although the coverage provided under policies varies, your Pekin Insurance Homeowners Policy provides a coverage limit equal to 30% of the insurance on your home. You can increase this coverage; however, this coverage also reimburses you for the rent that you would have collected from your tenant if your home had not been destroyed.
- Liability Protection (Coverage E)—Liability covers you against lawsuits for bodily injury or property damage that your or resident family members are found to be legally liable for. It also pays for damage caused by your pets. So, if your son, daughter, or dog accidentally ruins your neighbor’s expensive rug, you are covered. However, if they destroy your rug, you are not covered. The Liability portion of your policy pays for both the cost of defending you in court and any court awards, up to the limit of your policy. You are also covered, not just in your home, but anywhere in the world. (Any punitive damages awarded are not covered.)
- Medical Payments (Coverage F)—Your policy also provides no-fault Medical Coverage. In the event a friend or neighbor is injured in your home, he or she can simply submit medical bills to Pekin Insurance. This way, expenses are paid without a liability claim being filed against you. Medical Payments do not, however, pay the medical bills for your family with inflation.
- Inflation Protection—Your coverage limits will automatically increase each year to keep pace with inflation.
- Watercraft Liability Coverage—Automatically included at no extra charge for all outboard motors 100 hp or less.
- Contingent Workers Compensation Coverage (Illinois, Indiana, & Iowa only)—Your Pekin Insurance Homeowners Policy will provide to you a Standard Workers Compensation policy at approved rates, premiums, and minimum premiums in the event you become legally obligated to pay compensation and other benefits required of you by the Workers Compensation Act or the Workers Occupational Diseases Act.

- Fair Rental Value (Coverage D)—If the insured dwelling is a rental property, we will reimburse you for any loss of rent due to an insured loss.
- Additional Living Expenses (Coverage E)—Following an insured loss, we will reimburse you for any increase in living expenses which are necessary to maintain your normal standard of living.
- Liability Protection (Coverage L)—Liability covers you against lawsuits for bodily injury or property damage that you or resident family members are found to be legally liable for. It also pays for damage caused by your pets. So, if your son, daughter, or dog accidentally ruins your neighbor’s expensive rug, you are covered. - Earthquake Coverage—This endorsement is a form of property insurance that covers damage to your property in the event of an earthquake.
- Dwelling Fire Deluxe Endorsement(not applicable on Form DP 00 01)—This optional endorsement provides the following coverages: Fire Department Service Charge($500, no deductible); recharging or replacement of fire extinguisher when used in a covered loss($500 limit, $100 deductible); up to $5,000 reward for information which leads to an arson conviction of a person who caused a fire loss covered under the policy; Lock Replacement ($500 limit, $100 deductible); Landlords Property located on the described location ($5,000); the limit of liability for Other Coverages, Rental Value and Additional Living Expense is increased to 30% of Coverage A; Debris Removal ($5,000 total limit per loss, $100 deductible); and Loss Assessment ($5,000).
- Trees, Shrubs, and Plants—Pays for the cost of removing any trees, shrubs, or plants which have damaged a covered structure due to an insured peril.

A “special coverage” endorsement may be added to insure the structure for additional perils.
- Personal Belongings (Coverage C) -- Your furniture, clothes, sports equipment, and other personal items are covered if they are stolen or destroyed by fire, tornado, or other insured disaster. We strongly encourage you to conduct a home inventory to determine the amount of coverage needed. This part of your policy includes off- premises coverage. Umbrella Insurance refers to a liability insurance policy that protects your assets and future income above and beyond the standard limits set on your Auto, Homeowners, Motorcycle, rental Dwellings, Watercraft, and Recreational Vehicle Policies. For example, if you have an Auto insurance Policy with liability limits of $3000,000 and a Homeowners Policy with a limit of $500,000, then with a $1,000,000 umbrella, your limits become in effect, $1,300,000 on your Auto Policy and $1,500,000 on your Homeowners Policy.
The standard limit of coverage is $1,000,000 and can be increased in $1,000,000 increments to $5,000,000. Retention limits of $250, $500, and $1,000 are available.
In addition, Umbrella Insurance provides coverage for claims that may be excluded by your primary policies, such as:
- Personal Injury (libel, slander, false imprisonment, wrongful eviction, invasion of privacy, defamation of character, and false arrest)
