Graduated Indiana State University School of Business 1978 with a BS degree in Marketing and specialization in sales. Worked for General Motors Pontiac Motor Division in the St. Louis and Portland Zones. Former Account Executive and Field Underwriter for Universal Underwriters and was a prior owner of HMSB Insurance in Greencastle and earned  the distinction of Certified Insurance Counselor selling insurance until 2017 when he sold his interest, retired and moved to Canton, Ohio. 

After about 18 months it was apparent that retirement was for people who were tired of their profession and not for Mike who was eager to resume a role in the insurance markets again and help grow an agency and be part of the community where it is always a great opportunity to make new relationships. Helping people to protect their assets and interests is always a priority with Mike, he states that "Taking care of the client is top priority, not getting a sale just to make a commision for if you take care of the clients the commissions will take care of themselves."

Mike has 35 plus years working in the insurance industry and is very experienced with commercial business risks in many industries including auto dealers. auto repair, and body shops. Also with small to medium contractors, retail, farm, hoe and auto exposures, as well as life and health insurance planning. 

Past hobbies include collecting, restoring Classic and Antique cars, and home DIY improvements. Currently remodeling and restoring a 112 year old home on the National Historic Register. 4 children and 3 grandchildren working on a 4th.
